At St Hugh’s we pride ourselves on our strong links with the local community, including:

The choir sing at care homes during Advent, at Woodhall Spa Christmas market and occasionally at weddings and funerals.  St. Hugh's have also played host to the Woodhall Spa and Horncastle Rotary Music competition.

The school invites residents from local care homes to our Nativity plays and school musicals.  We also provide transport for primary school children to attend these events.

We provide swimming lessons for local primary schools.  We do not charge for the use of the pool or the provision of two qualified swimming instructors. We also provide swimming lessons for local children on Saturday mornings at a reduced rate.

We host an annual football and netball tournament for local primary schools in March, and various local sports clubs use our facilities, including Woodhall Spa Cricket Club and the local archery club.

Charitable giving

Each term, pupils in Year 7 select a charity to support. These can be local, national or international charities.  In the past year, we raised a total of £4,000 for STRUT, the Starlight Foundation, the Butterfly Hospice Trust and the NSPCC.  We also participate in the Samaritan's Christmas Shoebox appeal.  For the last three years we have donated in excess of 120 shoeboxes each year.
