Result: 2-8 L

A tough afternoon away at Witham saw us under pressure from the off. We found ourselves several goals down in the first ten minutes. However, after resolute resistance by our redoubtable defensive duo of Edmund and Seb, and some great stops by Alastair in goal, we began to work our way into the game with some forays into the opposition D. Before half time we had thankfully found the net after a huge hit forward by Ellis which was confidently slotted past their keeper by Callan, who had somehow worked his way up front… 

Much the same pattern of play followed in the second half - some good tackling and defensive work holding back the tide and another huge pass up the field by Ellis which found goalhanger extraordinaire Callan, who calmly steered the ball home again! Despite the scoreline, the boys played resolutely throughout the game and never threw in the towel. They deserved the consolation of coming out on top in the fun penalty shootout after the match.
