Boarding House News - Week 12

Boarding Newsletter – Autumn Term, Week 12

Our weekly Boarding House Newsletter for the week commencing Monday 5th December...

This last week was, in my opinion, one of the best yet! On Monday, we went around the neighbourhood singing Christmas Carols. The kindness and friendliness we received was lovely. We started decorating the House when we got home, adding a very long stair garland, three trees, and a bespoke St Hugh's wreath. You would all agree, I'm sure, that it looks fantastic! We are grateful to Bells Nursery for providing us with the resources we needed to give our pupils an amazing start to their Christmas 2022 memories. Before going to bed, students enjoyed a Christmas cupcake and hot chocolate.

Our Year 5 Boarders arrived on Tuesday. Football and Christmas crafts were enjoyed by all. We placed some enormous snowflakes on our Christmas bannister and decided that they were the perfect addition.

The evening concluded with fruit and pancake kebabs accompanied by sausage rolls; a Year 5 favourite! It was wonderful to see the Year 5s all together experiencing the Boarding House and we hope to see them again soon.

Our Boarders were treated to dinner at Zucci on Wednesday evening. It was pizza heaven! We are extremely fortunate to have such fantastic restaurants on our doorstep.

Our senior students and I started to watch ‘Wednesday’ on Netflix together after our younger students had gone to bed because it's been trending everywhere! Their excitement made it abundantly clear that I had made a wonderful suggestion! We set a time limit and prepared the popcorn. What a lovely way to end the day!

Following the Christmas Concert on Thursday, we decorated biscuits in preparation for our parent event on Monday. A busy, but undoubtedly memorable week.
