Set Spelling Bee

On Friday 13th October, Prep School held the annual Set Spelling Bee - this year without Years 7 and 8 as they had already departed for their Netherlands Sports Tour.

Heats in English lessons over the week had resulted in a finalist representing each Set in each year group, and all of the finalists were incredibly courageous standing up in front of all of their peers to spell some very tricky words aloud. All finalists won points for their set and there were even some tough tie-breakers!

The results were as follows:

Year 3

  • 1st Place - Taylor T (Red Set)
  • 2nd Place - Maya P (Blue Set)
  • 3rd Place - Hollie F (White Set)

Year 4

  • 1st Place - George P (Red Set)
  • 2nd Place - Annabelle B (White Set)
  • 3rd Place - George C (Blue Set)

Year 5

  • 1st Place - Edmund S (Blue Set)
  • 2nd Place - Edward J (Red Set)
  • 3rd Place - Josh F (White Set)

Year 6

  • 1st Place - James F (Blue Set)
  • 2nd Place - Josh N (White Set)
  • 3rd Place - George C (Red Set)

This meant that Blue Set and Red Set were the overall joint winners.

A huge well done to all of the spelling finalists and a big thank you to the Prep School pupils and staff who supported what has now become a nail-biting annual Set competition!
