- U9 Girls - 3rd Place
A group of U9 runners travelled to Ranby on Wednesday for our third cross country race of the year.
The U9 Girls team were up first which consisted of four Year 4 pupils (Cecily T, Hollie F, Annie F and Abi B) as well as two Year 3 pupils competing a year young (Valentina C and Lucy F). It was a sterling effort by the team, with Cecily T leading the St Hugh’s contingent crossing the finish line in an impressive 6th place! Hollie F was our second girl home at 12th, followed by Valentina C in 14th. Our final counter this week was Annie who finished in 18th. Abi once again worked hard to chase down runners on the final straight (22nd) and Lucy F ran well not far behind (26th). The girls scored a fabulous 50 points which put them in 3rd place overall - well done!
The U9 boys were raring to go having watched the girls in action. The team consisted of Year 4 runners Charlie S, Ralph J-B, Freddie S and Harry L in addition to three Year 3 boys competing a year young (Bertie, Joshua and Albie). It was Ralph this week to emerge first in front of a large crowd on the final stretch. Ralph managed to achieve a top 10 position with Charlie.
