‘What goes up must come down’

On Friday Year 3 went to Woolsthorpe Manor near Grantham accompanied by our Head of White House A’Ishah. The children visited Isaac Newton’s house and learnt all about the famous apple tree!  In the Science Centre itself, all children had a hands-on range of experiments to reveal Newton’s findings on colour spectrum and gravity. After lunch, the pupils took part in a workshop aimed at showing how white light slips into a colour spectrum. Wearing very special glasses, they used mirrors, prisms and magnifying glasses to carry out the activities!
